Fencing, Farmers Way
Client had an issue with boundary fence to small lane that ran alongside the rear as privacy was compromised. Additionally they had a mish-mash of fencing alongside boundary with neighbour with soil bed up against the fencing allowing rot to develop.
To help save on costs and give increased privacy it was decided to “lift” rear fencing by 30cm keeping as much as possible of existing closeboard fencing. We removed all feather edge boards leaving existing posts and arris rails over 25m length. New treated gravel boards were fitted along with new taller feather edge panels raising rear fence by 35cm and preventing anyone seeing over.
With regards to fencing with neighbour it was decided to keep the existing concrete posts for the first 8m, replacing with new closeboard panels. For the remaining 12m old fencing was removed and new concrete posts and closeboard panels to match were erected along with new concrete gravel boards the entire length to take account of the flower beds so no soil was resting against any wood.
